Your privacy is important to us, and we are committed to protecting and safeguarding your rights.<\/li><li>Personal data, or personal information, means any information about an individual from which that person is identified or identifiable.\u00a0 It does not include data where the identity has been removed (anonymous data) but may include opinions in relation to a decision about you and will extend to data about a deceased person (up to thirty (30) years following death).<\/li><li>This Privacy Notice applies to:<ul><li>a representative, director, officer, authorised signatory, agent or other natural person connected with an expert, consultant, contractor, DBJ client, tenderer or any other third party with whom we interact;<\/li><li>a website user, visitor, service subscriber or survey respondent; or<\/li><li>an applicant for a job at the DBJ (either as a member of staff or as an independent contractor).<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>For the purpose of the DPA, the organisation responsible for your personal data is the Development Bank of Jamaica Limited, 11A \u2013 15 Oxford Road, Kingston 5, St. Andrew, Jamaica.<\/li><li>We have appointed a Data Protection Officer to respond to any requests for information from data subjects.\u00a0 If you have any questions about this <strong>Privacy Notice<\/strong> or how we handle your personal data, please contact the Data Protection Officer at dpo@dbankjm.com.<\/li><li>The DBJ\u2019s Data Protection Policy provides that the DBJ shall process personal data in accordance with the following principles:<ul><li><strong>Lawfulness:<\/strong>\u00a0personal data shall be processed in accordance with one of the express bases set out in any directive or procedure adopted by the DBJ in the implementation of the DBJ Personal Data Protection Policy;\u00a0<\/li><li><strong>Purpose Limitation:\u00a0<\/strong>personal data shall be collected for one or more specified and legitimate purposes, and not further processed in a manner that is incompatible with those purposes;\u00a0<\/li><li><strong>Minimisation:\u00a0<\/strong>we shall endeavour, to the extent reasonably practicable, to process personal data that is relevant and limited to what is necessary in relation to the purposes for which such data is processed;\u00a0<\/li><li><strong>Fairness:\u00a0<\/strong>we shall act with fairness when processing personal data;\u00a0<\/li><li><strong>Transparency:\u00a0<\/strong>we shall process personal data in a transparent manner, subject to legitimate expressly specified exceptions set out in the DPA and \u00a0any directive or procedure adopted by the DBJ in the implementation of the DBJ Data Protection Policy;\u00a0<\/li><li><strong>Security:\u00a0<\/strong>personal data shall be protected by appropriate technical and organisational safeguards against unauthorised processing and against accidental loss, destruction or damage;\u00a0<\/li><li><strong>Accuracy:<\/strong>\u00a0we shall take measures to ensure that personal data we process is as accurate as possible and updated as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it is processed; and<\/li><li><strong>Storage Limitation:<\/strong>\u00a0DBJ shall retain personal data for the duration specified in its applicable \u00a0\u00a0retention schedule.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>DBJ shall process personal data for various purposes. These may include:<\/p><ol><li>When you apply for any of our loan or grant products through our network of AFIs and other intermediaries.<\/li><li>Information obtained about you when we search third party sources such as LinkedIn and other job sites for potential candidates for your role;<\/li><li>If you were referred to us through a recruitment agency, they may have shared personal data about you with us;<\/li><li>Information obtained about you from third party service providers who undertook background checks about you on our behalf;<\/li><li>Your referees may have disclosed personal data about you to us;<\/li><li>Information obtained about you from the organisation you represent or of which you are a director, officer, shareholder or beneficial owner;<\/li><li>Third party vendors\/suppliers\/service providers\/platforms\/microsite portals, used by us to fulfil our business purposes or support our business activities related to you and your interaction with us such as YouNoodle and Microsoft Forms.\u00a0<\/li><li>Other third parties (such as relevant public authorities or governments departments or agencies) who may share your personal data with us;<\/li><li>Information obtained about you if a third party signs up for a DBJ organised event on your behalf or as a part of a group;<\/li><li>Information obtained about you if a third party raises a complaint about a DBJ project on your behalf (as someone who is affected by the project) as part of the GRM;
